Landform

The largest flat-top mountain on earth. Lakes and spruce on a basalt tableland above the valley.

Field note

A lava cap saved the mesa while the country around it wore away. Hundreds of lakes sit in the spruce. From the rim the valley is a long drop and the La Sals a far blue.
