A high limestone plateau of ponderosa parkland and aspen, the forested roof of Grand Canyon’s North Rim.
Field note
The Kaibab is cooler and quieter than the South Rim. Ponderosa trunks go orange in last light. The Kaibab squirrel lives only here. In autumn the aspen turn the plateau into a single gold bench.
