The world’s largest gypsum dunefield. Soft, cool, almost snow-white dunes ringed by the San Andres and Sacramento ranges.
Gypsum rarely forms dunes; here a closed basin traps it. Evening turns the ridges peach and lilac. Soaptree yucca islands the swales.
