Landform

A living supervolcano plateau. Geysers, hot springs, travertine terraces, and a high lodgepole forest over rhyolite.

Field note

Grand Prismatic is a hot spring ringed in thermophile color. Castle and Old Faithful speak from the Upper Geyser Basin. This is the largest intact temperate ecosystem in the lower 48.
