Big Thicket is woods that remember swamp. Turkey Creek and the Beaumont Unit hold bald cypress in black water; autumn needles go rust. Beaumont and Woodville are the towns. This plate is Big Thicket National Preserve, not Caddo Lake and not a dirt-road green.
