Roadless Brooks Range: Arrigetch granite, tundra valleys, and the two peaks Bob Marshall called the gates.
Field note
The National Park Service administers Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve. There is no road in. Visitors fly or travel by river. Frigid Crags and Boreal Mountain frame the North Fork of the Koyukuk; the Arrigetch Peaks are the granite spires to the west. It is among the least visited national parks. Denali is a different range.
