A 9,717-foot Wasatch saddle on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache line — Big Cottonwood and Brighton to the west, Bonanza Flat and the Midway road to the east. Not Lake Blanche and not Cecret.
Field note
Utah 190 climbs out of Big Cottonwood to the pass. The east side continues toward Midway on Pine Canyon and Utah 222, and toward Park City on Utah 224. UDOT closes the seasonal gates in winter, generally November through May, and opens them when the snow is gone. The overlook is a short-term pullout — stand and look. There is no camp at the pass. This plate is Guardsman Pass, not Lake Blanche and not Cecret Lake.
