A tight entrenched meander of the Colorado River, a thousand feet below a Navajo sandstone rim.
Field note
The river cut downward as the Colorado Plateau rose, locking an old bend in place. Midday light is harsh; late afternoon fills the inner wall with honey. The water is Glen Canyon green.
