One of the oldest rivers on the continent, cutting a deep sandstone gorge through the Appalachian Plateau. A single steel arch spans the void.
The New River is misnamed; it is ancient. The gorge is a green cut of rhododendron and hardwood. The bridge, once the world’s longest steel arch, is the punctuation mark.
