A 200-foot plunge of the Palouse River into a basalt amphitheater left by the Missoula Floods. A waterfall in a dry, scoured canyon.
The scablands are a landscape of leftover water. Palouse Falls is the one place the leftover still moves. Spring is the loud season; summer is a blue pool in a brown gorge.
