The Shasta and Trinity forests were joined in 1954. The forest covers 3,454 square miles in northern California and five wildernesses, the Trinity Alps among them. Mount Shasta stands in it and keeps its own plate. Castle Crags and Mount Eddy do too. Medicine Lake is Modoc National Forest. This plate is Shasta-Trinity.
Shasta-Trinity is the largest national forest in California, the 1954 joining of the Shasta and Trinity forests. The Trinity Alps are the granite inside it. Mount Shasta is the cone and keeps its own plate. This plate is the forest, not Lassen and not Medicine Lake.
