Landform

Pumice and tuff tents with hard caprocks. A slot canyon opens onto a mesa of pointed stone.

Field note

Kasha-Katuwe is Keresan for white cliffs. The tents are pyroclastic, not sandstone. The slot is narrow, the mesa sudden. Pueblo land, a monument on a permit.
