Landform
A wide drop on the Cumberland River, one of the few places in the Western Hemisphere with a regular moonbow.
Field note
Kentucky State Parks holds Cumberland Falls State Resort Park on the Cumberland River. The falls are a wide single drop. On clear nights near a full moon, a moonbow forms in the mist — one of the few regular moonbows in the Western Hemisphere. Mammoth Cave is the karst plate to the west. Red River Gorge is sandstone, not this river.
