The second-largest canyon in the United States. Permian redbeds and a lighthouse hoodoo, cut into the High Plains by the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River.
You do not see Palo Duro until you are on it — the High Plains hide the cut. The Lighthouse is a 300-foot hoodoo. Evening turns the redbeds the color of brick and rust.
