A limestone canyon above the Pecos — pale walls, Fate Bell alcoves, and a dry wash that remembers flood.

Field note

The alcoves held paint older than the towns. Comstock is the nearest stop. Cooler months are kinder. This plate is Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site, not Santa Elena and not a Hill Country river park.
