A vast alkali playa of Pleistocene Lake Lahontan, in a BLM national conservation area.
Field note
The BLM manages the Black Rock Desert inside the Black Rock Desert–High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area. The playa is a floor of Lake Lahontan. When it is dry and firm it can be crossed; when it is wet it is not a road. Carry water. This plate is the landform, not a festival.
