A remote geothermal field of boiling pools, mud pots, and small fumaroles on the east side of the Alvord.
Field note
The BLM manages Mickey Hot Springs on the east side of the Alvord Desert. Pools boil, mud pots work, and a small fumarole hisses. The approach is a remote high-clearance road; many drivers want four-wheel drive, and there are no services. The hottest water will scald. The Alvord Desert plate is the playa to the west, not these vents.
