Field note
The National Park Service administers Indiana Dunes National Park, renamed from a national lakeshore in 2019. Mount Baldy is a moving dune. Beach, bog, and black-oak savanna share a thin strip of shore. Sleeping Bear Dunes is the Michigan plate across the lake. This one is Indiana.
