Field note
Jasper Forest and Blue Mesa are in Petrified Forest National Park, which the National Park Service administers. The Chinle Formation erodes into colored badlands, and petrified logs lie on the benches. The painted-desert plate is Tawa Point in the same park. This plate is the log fields and Blue Mesa, not that overlook.
