A long Black Hills cave lined with calcite crystals. Among the longest caves yet mapped.
Field note
The National Park Service holds Jewel Cave National Monument near Custer. Calcite crystals coat much of the mapped cave, which ranks among the longest known. Wind Cave is the other Black Hills cave on this atlas; the Black Hills plate is the surface range.
