Landform
Florida dry prairie — wiregrass, saw palmetto, and cabbage-palm hammocks on a fire-kept plain. Not Everglades sawgrass wetland.
Field note
This is grassland, not swamp. Palmettos and wiregrass run to a palm hammock on a flat horizon. Night skies are dark enough for a Dark Sky park. The Florida grasshopper sparrow still uses this ground. Keep it distinct from the river of grass to the south — dry prairie, cabbage palm, and a sea of tawny blades.
